Committee Members: Robin Stark (Chair) | Hattie Stone | Susan Steel | George Reeves | Anne Dougherty | Ruth Muenzen |

The Worship committee is responsible for the administration of all aspects of our church services including alternative Eucharists or prayers, appropriate music, and the organization of lay people to assist. Worship at St. Mary's is truly inclusive, as it is our tradition to extend a welcome to everyone to come to the Lord's table for bread, for wine, for both, or for a blessing. We are also drawn to the altar rail to receive healing prayers from members of the church trained in our healing ministry. The richness of the liturgy of the Episcopal Church is made available to us in the use of seasonal worship bulletins, further reminding us of the deeper meanings of each of the church seasons.

Services

Acolytes
Youth and adults are needed to serve at the altar each Sunday.
Ushers
Men and Women who greet the congregation and welcome newcomers each Sunday morning. They receive the offering and guide the congregation to the altar.
Lay Volunteers
A diverse group made up of Chalice bearers, Lectors and LEMs. Chalice bearers help the priest serve communion. Lectors read the lessons from the Old or New Testament. LEMs take communion to those who cannot attend church. We meet 4 times a year, before the major seasons in the church year.
Altar Guild
Prepares the altar for all worship services during the church year, as well as caring for all the vestments, linen and vessels.

Music

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is a group that uses their voices to praise God and enhance the worship experience at 10.30am every Sunday. Membership is open to anyone from High School on up. Rehearsals are in the choir loft on Thursday from 7.30 to 9.00pm and Sunday morning from 9.00 to 9.20am
Bell Choir
The Bell Choir is a small group that uses their hands and handbells to praise God and enhance selected worship services throughout the church year. This group is open to anyone from High School on up. Rehearsals are Wednesday evening from 6.30 to 7.15pm. Rehearsals are held behind the altar at the Bell Tables.

Scheduling

In addition to our regular services, we hold a variety of services throughout the year including Holy week and Easter and Christmas services. In summer, weather permitting, we hold the occasional outdoor services in July and August and in the fall we welcome our furry friends with the Blessing of the Animals.

Organization

St. Mary's worship committee welcomes your help and involvement in planning the church year for services, music and prayers. We are pleased to be offering Children's services starting in September on the 2nd and fourth Sundays of the month at 9am. We continue to review interesting alterative forms of worship, such as a recent Scottish Eucharist, in an endeavor to be fresh and challenging
